Guangzhou Glorystar Industrial Co., Ltd. manufactures Glorystar sealants, adhesives and modified starch powder. It was among China’s early recognised producers of silicone structural sealants for construction. Silicone sealants are widely used in curtain-wall joints for their weather resistance, UV resistance and elasticity. A suitable sealant accommodates joint movement while maintaining an air- and watertight seal. If the material becomes brittle and loses elasticity, joint sealing performance can deteriorate.

When sourcing sealants, consider material quality and long-term performance alongside price. A low purchase price cannot replace dependable performance.

Some manufacturers substitute white mineral oil for dimethyl silicone oil as a plasticiser to reduce costs and improve gloss and extrusion. However, loss of the mineral-oil components can reduce the plasticising effect, causing the sealant to harden and, in severe cases, become brittle or crack. This can compromise the long-term sealing performance of curtain-wall, window and door joints.
