Guangzhou Glorystar Chemicals Co., Ltd. had a registered capital of RMB 11 million. It is a high-tech enterprise located in the Baiyun District Private Science and Technology Industrial Park (Jianggao), Guangzhou, covering an area of 70 acres. The company is among the earliest in China to be “certified for the production of silicone structural sealants for construction” and remains the largest and sole modified starch manufacturer certified by four national ministries and commissions. It is designated as a national high-tech enterprise, a key high-tech enterprise under the National Torch Plan, and a nationally outstanding private technology enterprise. The company hosts a “Provincial Enterprise Technology Center” and a “Guangdong Provincial Engineering Technology Research Centre”. It collaborates with a scientific research team led by professors from South China University of Technology through an industry-university-research base, and has been awarded the “Guangdong Provincial Academician Expert Enterprise Workstation”. Furthermore, the company has successfully undertaken over ten science and technology projects under the national Spark Plan, National Torch Plan, and various Guangdong provincial, municipal, and district-level programmes.
