Glorystar · The function and compatibility of primary sealing and secondary sealing of insulating glass

The double-pass sealing of insulating glass is completed by using different materials. The first pass usually uses butyl hot-melt sealant, which plays the main sealing role; the second pass uses polysulfide or silicone sealant to provide auxiliary sealing, elastic buffering and protection.

The compatibility of the two sealing materials is related to the long-term performance of the insulating glass. This article introduces the relationship between the softening and flow of butyl glue and temperature or contact with incompatible substances, and demonstrates Glorystar B101 butyl hot melt sealant for insulating glass and N50 silicone insulating glass sealant.
