Hu Xinsong, chief engineer of Guangzhou Glorystar Industrial Co., Ltd., won the Chemical Industry Craftsman Award. Mr. Hu Xinsong has been engaged in the R&D, production and quality control of silicone polymer materials for 25 years. He has obtained 18 invention patents, 3 utility model patents, published 5 papers, and achieved significant economic and social benefits. He has successively won the China Patent Excellence Award, the second and third prizes of the Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Award, the second prize of the Guangzhou Science and Technology Progress Award, the third prize of the Guangzhou Science and Technology Progress Award, the National May 1st Labor Medal, and the Guangzhou City Model Worker. He has also been named an advanced individual in the standardization of the national building materials industry and an elite in the Chinese construction waterproofing industry. He serves as a member of the Technical Committee for Standardization of Environmental Conditions and Environmental Testing of Building Components and Materials in the Construction Industry, a member of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Lightweight and Decorative Fittings, a member and deputy secretary-general of the Building Sealing Materials Sub-Technical Committee, the vice-president of the China Building Waterproof Sealing Materials Branch, and a standardization expert in Guangzhou. The R&D team he leads has excellent R&D capabilities and huge technical contributions, driving the company’s output value, fixed assets, sales performance, profits and taxes, and employment to increase exponentially year by year.

Qu Zhehui, deputy general manager of the production department of Guangzhou Glorystar Industrial Co., Ltd., won the Chemical Industry Craftsman Award. Mr. Qu Zhehui has been engaged in the production management and control of silicone polymer materials and modified starch for 21 years. He has obtained 5 invention patents and published 2 papers.
The patent “Multi-purpose modified starch powder and preparation method for architectural decoration” that Mr. Qu Zhehui participated in won the 2018 China Patent Excellence Award. In addition, he was responsible for guiding production and process optimization in the project “Key technologies for preparation and industrialization of halogen-free flame-retardant and thermally conductive silicone electronic potting compound”. This project won the second prize of the Guangdong Province Science and Technology Progress Award. He has outstanding performance in enterprise production and operation management. In terms of improvement of production equipment, he has led the design and construction of the company’s rubber powder workshop. From the beginning of the discussion, innovation and reform have been the goal, and based on equipment automation control, material transportation has been changed from manual operation to automated continuous operation. In terms of production technology, the solvent method production process was successfully developed after two years, which subverted the traditional production model in the past and is at the leading level in the country.
