Glorystar Chemicals appeared at the 2018 Annual Meeting of China Building Decoration and Renovation Materials Association and the Second Full Decoration Summit Forum
On 5 January 2019, the China Building Decoration and Renovation Materials Association held its fourth member representatives’ conference and second forum on the fully finished decoration industry in Hangzhou. More than 1,200 industry leaders and professionals discussed the sector’s future development. Glorystar Chemicals attended the second forum as a representative and co-organiser of the Association’s Door, Window and Curtain Wall Branch.

Mr Mo, in light of current industry standardisation trends, what key role does sealant play in the door and window sector?
Sealants serve many functions, including sealing, waterproofing, sound insulation, shock absorption and noise reduction. The industry is now divided into specialised sectors, each requiring products suited to its applications. For example, the door and window sector needs products tailored to different customer requirements, including electroplated finishes and acrylic panels; products are no longer based on a single, standardised material. At Glorystar Chemicals, we customise and segment our product range to meet each customer’s needs.
Industry standards are becoming increasingly stringent. In this market environment, companies face significant challenges to their development and survival. How does Glorystar Chemicals address these challenges?
Today’s consumers are increasingly environmentally conscious. Our sealants are free from harmful substances such as formaldehyde and toluene, and do not produce a pungent smell during application. We use environmentally friendly, non-toxic materials to help protect family members’ respiratory health. In 2005, the environmentally friendly building silicone sealant we developed passed the appraisal of scientific and technological achievements organised by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Construction. We have also avoided the use of white mineral oil and developed a range of indoor sealants that do not contain it. We have also taken a leading role in industry standards and participated in drafting 13 national standards, 11 industry standards, 2 Guangdong provincial standards and 7 group standards. These efforts show how Glorystar Chemicals responds to industry challenges.

1. For the industry to develop, standards must come first. This is particularly important because many decoration materials and products still lack standards.
2. A brand is built on many things, including technology, management and patented technologies.
3. To move from supplying materials alone to providing services, we need to put service first.
4. We must provide enterprises with environmentally friendly and green products.
