1. Insulated decorative integrated panels are also known as energy-saving insulated decorative integrated panels. They consist of an adhesive layer, finished insulation and decorative panels, anchors, sealants and other components. Various construction methods are available. They are suitable for exterior wall insulation and decoration in new buildings and for energy-saving renovation and redecoration of existing buildings. They can be used on different types of public buildings and residential exteriors, in both cold northern and hot southern climates.
2. The insulated decorative integrated board system consists of a vacuum insulation board, XPS board, EPS board or rock-wool insulation board, together with an inorganic resin board and a decorative finish. Finish options include imitation stone paint, fluorocarbon solid-colour paint and polyurethane solid-colour paint, with multiple colours available.
3. When installing insulated decorative panels on site, leave a 5–10 mm joint between adjacent panels. Once the mortar beneath the finished panel is dry, insert foam material into the joints, then fill each joint with weather-resistant silicone sealant.
4. Because insulated decorative integrated panels have a high expansion coefficient and are made from varied materials, choose a weather-resistant sealant with high movement capability and good adhesion to the panels.
5. Insulated decorative panels from different manufacturers vary in formulation and production processes, which can affect density, water absorption and compatibility with silicone weather-resistant sealant. First carry out adhesion and water immersion tests to determine whether a primer is needed to improve adhesion.
Construction Guide
(1) Personnel requirements: Construction personnel must be responsible and understand that curtain-wall safety and reliability are closely related to construction quality. They must be familiar with sealant application procedures, bonding and sealing techniques, and the tools used. They must also be able to identify the bonding and sealing locations and supporting-material requirements shown in engineering drawings, troubleshoot bonding and sealing failures, and understand basic technical safety.
(2) Construction environment: The temperature should generally be between 5 °C and 40 °C, and relative humidity should be 40%–80%.
(3) Select joint-filling material of a suitable thickness for the gap between the panels. After filling, the material should sit 3–5 mm below the panel surface.
(4) Remove debris and dust from the panel joints and cut edges. Peel back the protective film only from the areas to be bonded, keeping the exposed area as small as possible without obstructing masking tape. Mark the grid lines according to the specified joint width, then apply masking tape along the lines.
(5) Use a sealant gun to apply an even, suitable amount of sealant to the lattice joints, then smooth it with a flat scraper. The sealant layer on the board should be 0.5–1 mm thick. Tool the sealant before a skin forms. Remove the masking tape immediately after tooling.
