Amid difficult trade relations between China and the United States, domestic technology companies must tread carefully in the U.S. market. We should recognise that China still relies on others for some key technologies, and that business-model innovation alone will eventually reach its limits. Competition between countries is not decided by who orders more takeaways; ultimately, it depends on advanced technology and national strength.
A blessing in disguise is a blessing in disguise. The United States has targeted China’s weakness in the lack of “cores” with its trade war. While sounding the alarm for China’s semiconductor industry, it has made more Chinese companies clearly realize that relying on U.S. supplies is unreliable and that corporate supply chains are fragile in the face of politics. This will inspire Chinese companies to make up their minds to develop domestic chips and enhance their independent research and development and independent innovation capabilities. U.S. sanctions will only promote the scientific and technological progress of Chinese companies and inspire them to overcome more scientific research difficulties.
