Shanghai police crack down on fake modified starch powder (wall putty additive) case

June 2017, Guangzhou Glorystar Industrial Co., Ltd., with the strong cooperation of the Fengxian Branch of the Shanghai Public Security Bureau, destroyed two counterfeit manufacturing and sales dens located on Yanqian Highway, Qingcun Town, Fengxian District, Shanghai, and Huayou Road, Minhang District, Shanghai. Four criminal suspects, led by Li Moumou and Qiu Moumou of Shanghai Glorystar Environmental Protection Materials Co., Ltd., Wang Moumou of Shanghai Glorystar Star Chemical Co., Ltd., and Wang Moumou of Shanghai Yuliang Packaging and Printing Co., Ltd. were seized on site. All kinds of counterfeit modified starches were seized on site. More than 520 boxes of powder and wall powder; more than 1,400 cartons of various types; more than 210,000 packaging bags of various types, 2 counterfeiting equipment, and several books of accounts. The cumulative value involved in the case exceeds 10 million yuan. The above four people have been criminally detained by the Fengxian Public Security Bureau in accordance with the law on suspicion of counterfeiting registered trademarks. This anti-counterfeiting operation by the Shanghai Fengxian Public Security Bureau has severely damaged the entire industry chain from counterfeiting, storage, transportation, and sales. It has not only suppressed the arrogance of criminals, but also rectified similar markets and made due contributions to the protection of people’s livelihood.
