Glorystar Chemicals at the 31st Bangkok ArchitectExpo
Thailand International Building Materials and Interior Decoration Exhibition (ArchitectExpo) is the largest building materials and interior decoration exhibition in the ASEAN region. It is also the most professional, best trade opportunity, most authoritative and most important exhibition in Thailand. The exhibition is held once a year and has been successfully held for 31 times so far. Every year, it attracts many professional visitors and exhibitors to seek cooperation opportunities. It is the most effective way for exhibitors from all over the world to display high-tech, products and services to audiences in Thailand and Southeast Asia. In 2016, the exhibition attracted more than 800 companies from all over the world, including Germany, Taiwan, Italy, France, the United States, Australia, Malaysia, Japan, and other ASEAN countries, with an exhibition area of more than 75,000 square meters and a total of 352,563 visitors.

A light-hearted moment: A Thai customer asked, “Where are you from?” “Guangzhou, China,” I replied. “Are there more motorbikes in Guangzhou than in Bangkok?” “People in Guangzhou have switched from motorbikes to Mobike bikes.” “Has Guangzhou’s economy gone backwards?” I had no answer…

A week after meeting Glorystar Chemicals at the Bangkok exhibition, the customer visited our Guangzhou company and placed an order.

Guangzhou Glorystar Chemicals Co., Ltd. had registered capital of RMB 11 million. Its main products include silicone sealants and modified starch powder. The company was one of the drafting organisations for the national standards GB 16776, “Silicone Structural Sealant for Construction”, and GB/T 14683 for silicone building sealants. It also contributed to industry standard JC/T 2316-2015, “Putty Additive for Interior Decoration”. At the time, it was among the few certified manufacturers of construction silicone structural sealants in China, and the country’s largest modified-starch powder producer—and the only one in the category certified by four national ministries and commissions.
