The administrative team puts employee welfare first. The Administrative Center assists traffic police in resolving the July 23 employee hit-and-run case. At around 8:00 a.m. on July 23, 2015, Glorystar Chemicals employee He Guangyun was passing through Xinzhenzhuang when an unlicensed car struck him from the side, knocking him down. The driver fled without stopping. Despite severe pain, Mr. He managed to get up and leave the scene. He then reported the incident to the company’s Administrative and Human Resources Department. After receiving the report, the Administrative and Human Resources Department arranged transport for Mr. He to Huadu District First People’s Hospital. His injuries included a closed chest injury, fractures of the left ninth and tenth ribs, a contusion to the lower left lung, a small amount of fluid in the left pleural cavity, and multiple skin and soft-tissue contusions. He was discharged on August 7, 2015, after 16 days in hospital. His doctor advised that he might need more than three months to recover. On the day of the incident, while the Administrative Center arranged hospital care for Mr. He, Deputy General Manager Chen Yaogen convened an emergency meeting with the Administrative and Human Resources Department. They coordinated his treatment, reporting the incident and working with the traffic police. Because the car had no license plate, there were few leads. The company and Mr. He’s family made several enquiries to the traffic police but received no updates. Deputy General Manager Chen and Ms. Zeng, the Administrative and Human Resources Department manager, decided that company staff would conduct their own enquiries and pass useful evidence to police as soon as possible. Under the direction of Deputy General Manager Chen and Manager Zeng, department staff investigated the case. They visited more than a dozen nearby villages, spoke with witnesses and local residents, and reviewed footage from more than ten surveillance cameras. They repeatedly followed up with the traffic police and provided more than ten pieces of key evidence, including photographs and video. They also accompanied investigators to two car dealerships and a general distributor to gather information. Despite three leads going cold and one mistaken identification leading to an incorrect summons, they continued searching. On the evening of August 7, they located a suspected vehicle and gathered evidence to identify its owner. After confirming the registration details and the owner’s address, they contacted the traffic police, who ultimately resolved the hit-and-run case.
The image above shows the vehicle owner being dealt with at the traffic police station. On August 11, Deputy General Manager Chen and Manager Zeng helped Mr. He’s family and the driver reach a settlement. The driver agreed to pay RMB 40,000 in compensation, which was paid in full that day. On August 13, Mr. He sent a letter thanking the company’s Administrative Center colleagues for their concern and their efforts to help identify the driver.
